A Case of Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis Caused by Colon cancer


Abstract
Leptomeningeal infiltration by systemic cancer is a rare pattern of metastasis. The tumor which commonly cause leptomeningeal metastasis are carcinoma of the breast, lung, lymphoma and malignant melanoma. Colon cancer rarely causes leptomeningeal infiltration.
A case of leptomeningeal carcinomatosis or infiltration caused by colon cancer diagnosed by history, clinical features, analysis of cerebrospinal fluid, and biopsy of the cervical and inguinal lymphnodes is presented with reviewing the literatures.
